Proofreading

Proofreading is the final quality check before your work goes public. I meticulously examine your manuscript to catch any remaining errors that might have been missed in earlier editing stages.

What happens during proofreading?

During this stage, I’ll carefully review your work for:

  • spelling mistakes and typos
  • punctuation errors
  • formatting inconsistencies
  • page layout issues
  • caption and heading accuracy.

Proofreading happens after copy editing is complete and focuses purely on eliminating technical errors rather than improving content. Think of it as the final polish that ensures your writing appears professional and credible to readers.

This stage is crucial even for thoroughly edited manuscripts, as new errors can sometimes appear during revisions. Proofreading provides that essential last line of defence against mistakes that could distract readers from your valuable content.
